Coasty
The computer-use agent that doesn't break on real software
What it does
Coasty is an AI agent that controls a real computer by sight—reading the live screen, clicking, typing, and completing tasks across desktop apps, web portals, mainframes, and internal tools. It operates without APIs, connectors, or selectors, using a self-correcting loop: observe, act, verify, recover. This allows it to handle UI changes, pop-ups, and novel screens autonomously. Coasty provides a computer-use API (screenshot in, structured JSON action out), a standalone agent, and enterprise automation for legacy software. It supports human-in-the-loop approval, full audit trails, on-prem or BYOK deployment, and multi-agent swarms.
Who it is for
Coasty targets enterprises and teams that rely on repetitive, screen-based workflows across many portals or legacy systems. Specific use cases highlighted include:
- Insurance: Independent agencies, MGAs, and TPAs automating carrier portal submissions, quotes, COIs, and policy checks.
- Accounting: Firms pulling statements from bank/payroll portals and reconciling in QuickBooks/Xero.
- Freight: Brokers and 3PLs tracking loads, pulling PODs, and re-keying into TMS.
- Healthcare billing: Behavioral health teams checking eligibility and authorizations across 600+ payer portals.
- MSPs: Onboarding/offboarding across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and distributor portals.
- E-commerce: Marketplace sellers fixing listings, filing FBA claims, and managing orders on Amazon, Walmart, Shopify.
- Infrastructure: Engineering teams automating runbook steps across AWS, GCP, Azure, Datadog, and PagerDuty.
Why it matters
Traditional RPA (UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) breaks when UIs change because it binds to selectors and coordinates. Coasty reads the screen like a human, so it self-heals on redesigns, pop-ups, and new layouts. It is benchmarked #1 on OSWorld at 85.60% (in-house model) and 82.81% independently verified on OSWorld Verified. This means it can reliably automate workflows that previously required constant maintenance or manual effort. The agent also handles unstructured data (PDFs, emails, screenshots) without templates, and can run many agents in parallel to clear backlogs.
Launch signal
Coasty is backed by Y Combinator and has published benchmark results on GitHub. The website lists specific industry use cases and offers demos. The product appears to be live and available for trial ("Try Coasty free"). The company is actively targeting enterprise customers to replace existing RPA tools.
Brand and naming
Coasty is a short, catchy name that evokes 'coast' (smooth sailing) and 'coastline' (edge), aligning with its promise of reliable automation. However, the name lacks direct semantic connection to computer-use agents, and the website error undermines memorability. The tagline clearly positions it as a robust alternative to fragile agents, but the name alone doesn't convey this.
